Terms and Conditions for International Educational Experiences

Provider: World Walker Foundation / World Walker LLC (“World Walker”)
Effective Date: 3/23/2026

1. Introduction & Agreement

This Agreement is between the participant (“Participant”) and World Walker regarding participation in a short-term international educational experience program (“Program”).

By enrolling, making payment, or participating in the Program, the Participant agrees to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.

2. Definitions

  • Participant: Individual enrolled in the Program

  • World Walker: WorldWalker Foundation and/or World Walker LLC and its representatives

  • Program: The international educational experience offered

  • Host Country: Destination country where the Program occurs

3. Eligibility

Participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university (within 1 year)

  • Meet all travel, health, and documentation requirements

4. Participant Responsibility & Cultural Engagement

World Walker programs emphasize cultural immersion, global awareness, and respectful engagement.

Participants agree to:

  • Respect local laws, customs, and communities

  • Conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on the group

  • Take personal responsibility for their behavior, safety, and decisions

Behavior that disrespects local culture or negatively impacts the group experience may result in removal from the Program without refund.

5. Code of Conduct

Participants must:

  • Follow all applicable laws

  • Refrain from illegal activity, including drug use, theft, or violence

  • Avoid disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Repeated lateness that disrupts group activities

  • Disrespect toward staff, participants, or local communities

  • Behavior that negatively affects the group experience

World Walker reserves the right to remove any participant from the Program without refund at its sole discretion.

6. Payments, Deposits & Financial Terms

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a spot

  • Remaining balances must be paid by stated deadlines

  • Late payments may result in additional fees or loss of participation

Failure to complete payment may result in removal from the Program without refund of prior payments.

7. Refund Policy

All program payments, including deposits, are non-refundable.

World Walker may, at its sole discretion, issue a program credit in place of a refund.

Credits:

  • Must be used within 12 months

  • Are non-transferable unless approved in writing

Refunds or credits will not be provided for:

  • Voluntary withdrawal

  • Failure to obtain travel documents

  • Missed or delayed flights

  • Failure to attend the Program

  • Dismissal due to conduct violations

8. Program Changes & Cancellation

World Walker reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any Program due to:

  • Safety concerns

  • Insufficient enrollment

  • Government restrictions

  • Operational or logistical issues

If World Walker cancels a Program (outside of Force Majeure), participants may receive either:

  • A refund, or

  • A program credit

World Walker is not responsible for external costs such as flights or personal expenses.

9. Force Majeure

World Walker is not liable for delays, disruptions, or cancellations due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to:

  • War

  • Political unrest

  • Government actions

  • Pandemics

  • Natural disasters

  • Airline disruptions

In such cases, refunds are not guaranteed. Any credits or partial refunds will be determined at World Walker’s sole discretion based on recoverable costs.

10. Travel & Flights Responsibility

Participants are solely responsible for:

  • Booking flights

  • Arriving on time

  • Managing travel disruptions

World Walker is not responsible for:

  • Missed flights

  • Delays or cancellations

  • Additional travel expenses

Failure to arrive on time does not entitle the Participant to any refund or credit.

11. Passports, Visas & Documentation

Participants are responsible for obtaining all required documents, including:

  • Valid passport

  • Visas

  • Vaccinations

Failure to secure proper documentation does not qualify for refunds or credits.

12. Travel Insurance (Required)

Travel insurance is mandatory.

Participants must obtain coverage that includes:

  • Trip cancellation/interruption

  • Medical coverage

  • Emergency evacuation

Proof of insurance must be provided prior to departure.

Failure to provide proof may result in removal from the Program without refund.

13. Accommodations & Program Inclusions

Program fees may include:

  • Lodging

  • In-country transportation

  • Select meals

  • Cultural activities

  • Workshops and programming

Details vary by Program.

World Walker may adjust accommodations or logistics as needed.

14. Itinerary & Participation

Participants are encouraged to attend scheduled activities to fully benefit from the Program.

Participation is voluntary; however:

  • Participants who opt out of activities do so at their own risk

  • World Walker is not responsible for participants outside scheduled activities

Repeated disengagement that negatively impacts the group may result in removal without refund.

15. Independent Activities

Participants may engage in activities outside the Program at their own risk.

World Walker is not responsible for incidents, injuries, or losses occurring during independent or unsupervised activities.

16. Alcohol & Substance Policy

World Walker does not provide or sponsor alcohol at official Program activities.

Participants must comply with all local laws regarding alcohol and substance use.

Illegal or disruptive behavior related to substance use may result in removal without refund.

17. Safety & Emergency Protocols

Participants must follow all safety guidance provided.

In emergencies, World Walker will make reasonable efforts to assist participants but is not liable for outcomes or costs incurred.

18. Health & Medical Responsibility

Participants must:

  • Disclose relevant medical conditions

  • Ensure they are physically able to participate

Participants are responsible for:

  • Medical costs

  • Emergency treatment

  • Evacuation expenses

World Walker is not liable for medical issues during the Program.

19. Staff & Mentor Roles

World Walker staff, mentors, and trip leaders are facilitators—not legal guardians or personal supervisors.

Participants are responsible for their own safety and decision-making at all times.

20. Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk

Participants acknowledge that international travel involves inherent risks, including injury, illness, or loss.

By participating, individuals:

  • Assume all risks

  • Release World Walker from liability to the fullest extent permitted by law

21. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless World Walker from any claims arising from their actions during the Program.

22. Conduct, Harassment & Misconduct

World Walker maintains a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Harassment

  • Discrimination

  • Misconduct

Participants must behave respectfully at all times.

Violations may result in immediate removal without refund.

23. Photo & Media Release

Participants grant World Walker permission to use photos/videos taken during the Program for marketing and promotional purposes unless otherwise stated in writing.

24. Intellectual Property

All materials and program content are proprietary and may not be reproduced or distributed without permission.

25. Privacy

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and used only for Program-related purposes.

26. Termination & Withdrawal

World Walker may remove participants for:

  • Violations of these Terms

  • Behavior affecting safety or group experience

No refunds will be issued in such cases.

Participants who voluntarily withdraw are not eligible for refunds.

27. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas.

Participants agree to resolve disputes through binding arbitration prior to pursuing legal action.

28. Acknowledgment

By enrolling, the Participant confirms they have:

  • Read and understood these Terms

  • Agreed to be legally bound

  • Accepted all financial and participation policies
